Plumpton Training Services Pty Ltd is a Registered Training Organisation (Provider #31600) providing scheduled training in Mackay, Cairns, Townsville, Rockhampton, Emerald, Brisbane and Melbourne. We provide specialised electrical and other related training for the mining and industrial sectors. Our courses include nationally accredited units of competency, industry specific learning outcomes and individual client-required electrical induction training and familiarisation.

Test and Tag

This unit covers safety testing of electrical cord connected equipment and cord assemblies. It encompasses working safely, using portable apparatus tester, identifying faults, applying tagging, arranging for repair of faulty equipment and complete testing documentation.

High Voltage Switching Training

Our Nationally Accredited high voltage switching courses cover high voltage isolation and access basic principles as well as general and equipment-specific switching procedures. The switching principles and operating methods of indoor and outdoor high voltage switchgear are covered and purpose-built high voltage switching simulators are used for the practical elements of the course.

Provide Emergency Care

This unit of competency involves the skills and knowledge required to provide emergency care pending the arrival of appropriately qualified personnel. It includes identifying need for emergency care, ensuring personal safety of carer and casualty, reassuring casualty, assessing casualty and implementing emergency care procedures, working cooperatively with personnel from other organisations, recovering and restoring first aid equipment and completing documentation.

Issue Work Permits

MSMPER300 

This unit of competency covers the skills and knowledge required to issue work permits. It covers an understanding of the permit system and the limitations of each permit, and making decisions regarding the need for and correct use of each permit. This unit includes the issue of any and all permits. Permits are called ‘clearances’ by some organisations.

MSMPER200 Work in accordance with an issued permit

This unit of competency covers the skills and knowledge required to work in accordance with an issued permit. It aims to ensure that people working under a permit to work understand the system, know the limitations of the permit under which they are working and comply with all the requirements of the permit. The people to whom this unit applies may be called 'permit recipients' or 'permit holders' by some organisations. Some organisations call 'permits' 'clearances'.

MSMPER201 Monitor and control work permits

This unit of competency covers the skills and knowledge required to monitor a work situation in which the activity is conducted under a permit to work. The individual will be required to monitor the work situation for conformance to the permit and immediately intervene if the parameters of the permit are not met or work proceeds outside the boundaries set by the permit.

MSMPER202 Observe permit work

This unit of competency covers the skills and knowledge required to undertake the safety observer role for permits requiring a safety observer. This role may also be called a hole watcher or a fire watcher.

This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to provide a first aid response to a casualty. The unit applies to all workers who may be required to provide a first aid response in a range of situations, including community and workplace settings
