UNDERGROUND ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING MANAGER (EEM)

Course Outline:

This course for those individuals who wish to advance their career and take the next step into managing electrical activities on a mine site.

​

Coal Mining Safety and Health Regulation, Part 4 States:

 

"​The duties of an electrical engineering manager include controlling and managing the following at the mine

  • (a) the design of electrical installations;

  • (b) the installation and maintenance of electrical equipment and electrical installations;

  • (c) electrical work;

  • (d) work carried out close to electrical installation"

​

 

Competencies Includes:

  • UEENEEM078A – Manage compliance of hazardous areas

  • UEENEEM074A – Plan electrical installations in hazardous areas – Coal mining

  • UEENEEM035A – Conduct a conformity assessment of explosion-protected equipment - coal mining

  • UEENEEM047A – Develop and manage maintenance programs for hazardous areas electrical equipment coal mining

 

EEM Course Content:

  • Statutory compliance and Legislation

  • Plan and manage electrical activities relevant to a mine site

  • Develop and implement maintenance programs for electrical equipment and systems

 

Mode of Delivery:

This courses is delivered face to face over two 5-day blocks.

Any personnel who is required to control and manage electrical activities on a mine site or those persons are looking to progress their electrical career within the mining industry.
